The Sous Chef assists the Executive Sous Chef in overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring the preparation and presentation of high-quality food while maintaining food safety, sanitation, and cost control standards. The Sous Chef supervises kitchen staff, coordinates food production, and ensures efficient kitchen operations to deliver an exceptional dining experience.
Qualifications/Requirements- Bachelor's degree, diploma, or vocational certification in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in a professional kitchen, with 1–2 years in a supervisory role such as Junior Sous Chef or Chef de Partie.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and international and local cuisines.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and sanitation standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in inventory management, food costing, and kitchen budgeting.
- Flexible to work on weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
