Business Development Manager

Your Client:
Work with an Australian engineering consultancy specialising in renewable energy and power infrastructure projects. The company delivers services across utility-scale solar farms, battery energy storage systems (BESS), commercial and industrial (C&I) solar, and electrical design solutions.
Their expertise includes electrical design and drafting, grid connection and GPS support, commissioning and testing, and SCADA and control systems. As the company continues to expand its project pipeline, they are looking for a Business Development Manager to strengthen their presence across the Australian market and drive new project opportunities.
To be successful in this role, you must have the following:
Essential Qualifications- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within a B2B environment.
- Experience working with the Australian market.
- Strong ability to generate leads through networking, outbound outreach, LinkedIn, and referrals.
- Experience conducting client meetings, presentations, and capability discussions.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare proposals, quotations, and commercial offers.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills with a track record of securing deals.
- Experience managing CRM pipelines and maintaining accurate sales reporting.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills, with strong phone presence.
- Commercial mindset with confidence in engaging and advising clients.
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently in a remote or hybrid setup.
- Background in renewable energy, electrical engineering, or infrastructure-related industries.
- Experience selling consulting services, engineering solutions, or technical services.
- Familiarity with project-based sales cycles and long-term client engagements.

- Identifying and securing new business opportunities across renewable energy and electrical design services.
- Generating leads through outbound outreach, networking, LinkedIn engagement, and referrals.
- Conducting client meetings to understand requirements and present company capabilities.
- Preparing proposals, quotations, and tailored solutions based on client needs.
- Negotiating commercial terms and closing deals across various project scopes.
- Maintaining and strengthening relationships with new and existing clients.
- Managing and tracking sales pipeline activity through CRM systems.
- Providing regular updates and reporting on business development performance.
