JOB TITLE: GUEST ACTIVITY COORDINATOR (Wellness & Recreation)
REPORTS TO: HR SUPERVISOR/ MARKETING SUPERVISOR
JOB SUMMARY:
The Guest Activity Coordinator (Wellness & Recreation) is responsible for planning, organizing, and facilitating recreational and wellness programs that enhance the overall guest experience. The role ensures that all activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in alignment with resort standards.
This position also provides basic first aid and wellness support, ensuring guest safety and immediate response to minor health-related concerns during activities. The role contributes to guest satisfaction by delivering engaging, memorable, and safe experiences throughout the guest’s stay.
Duties and Responsibilities- Program Development and Implementation
- Plan, develop, and execute a structured weekly calendar of recreational and wellness activities
- Ensure a balanced mix of sports, fitness, cultural, and entertainment programs
- Regularly evaluate and improve activity offerings based on guest feedback and trends
- Activity Facilitation and Guest Experience
- Lead, facilitate, or supervise recreational activities (e.g., water activities, guided tours, children’s programs, and group events)
- Ensure all in-house guests are informed and encouraged to participate in activities
- Create a lively, engaging, and inclusive environment that enhances guest satisfaction
- Health, Safety, and Wellness Support
- Serve as the primary liaison between the company and government offices for regulatory, licensing, and compliance requirements.
- Process applications, renewals, and follow-ups for permits, licenses, certifications, and other statutory requirements.
- Ensure timely submission of documents and compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
- Guest Engagement and Relations
- Actively interact with guests to promote activities and gather feedback
- Address guest inquiries and concerns related to recreational programs
- Build rapport to encourage repeat visits and positive guest reviews
- Logistics, Inventory, and Resource Management
- Maintain and monitor inventory of recreational supplies and equipment
- Ensure proper upkeep, cleanliness, and readiness of activity materials
- Coordinate with Maintenance and Banquet teams for activity setup and requirements
- Interdepartmental Coordination
- Collaborate with Front Office and Food & Beverage teams to align activity schedules
- Support the promotion of special events, packages, and resort offerings
- Ensure seamless execution of activities through effective coordination with all concerned departments
- Other Responsibilities
- Perform other administrative and clerical tasks as may be assigned by Management from time to time.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSA)
Knowledge- Basic knowledge of recreational program planning and hospitality service standards
- Understanding of safety protocols and emergency response procedures
- Basic health and wellness knowledge, including first aid practices
- Strong interpersonal and guest engagement skills
- Effective communication and public speaking abilities
- Organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple activities
- Basic first aid and CPR skills (certification preferred or required)
- Ability to lead and facilitate group activities across diverse groups
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency or high-pressure situations
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to maintain high energy and professionalism in a guest-facing environment
- Guest Satisfaction Rating (Activities/Recreation): Achieve target scores based on guest feedback surveys
- Participation Rate: Meet or exceed target percentage of guest engagement in scheduled activities
- Safety Compliance: Maintain zero major incidents and adherence to safety protocols
- Activity Execution: Timely and successful implementation of scheduled programs
- Revenue Contribution: Generate revenue through promotion of paid or premium activities
- Guest Engagement: Positive guest feedback, repeat participation, and overall experience enhancement
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Physical Education, Hospitality Management, Tourism, or any related field
- Licensed Nurse (RN) is an advantage but not required; background in health, wellness, or first aid is preferred
- With at least one (1) year of experience in hospitality, recreation, wellness, or a related field
- Certified in Basic First Aid and CPR (required or must be obtained upon hiring)
- Experience in handling guest activities, events, or wellness programs is an advantage
- Willing to work on shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays
