The Construction & Maintenance Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily activities of construction and maintenance crews to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and in compliance with plans, specifications, and quality standards.
This role combines hands-on technical oversight with personnel management, focusing on the efficient execution of construction, repair, and preventive maintenance tasks in various settings such as buildings, roads, utilities, and other infrastructure.

The Foreman ensures that workers are properly trained, equipped, and managed, and that materials and tools are used efficiently. They also serve as the main point of contact between crew members and site/project management.

Qualifications/Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of construction and maintenance crews.
  • Interpret and implement construction plans, blueprints, and work schedules.
  • Ensure quality control by inspecting completed work for compliance with specifications and safety standards.
  • Manage material and equipment use, ensuring efficient allocation and minimizing waste.
  • Assign tasks to workers based on skills and project needs; monitor progress and performance.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including use of PPE, hazard communication, and accident prevention measures.
  • Maintain daily work records, including labor hours, materials used, and work completed.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders for updates and issue resolution.
  • Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to crew members.
  • Report work progress, delays, and problems to higher-level supervisors or project managers.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a vocational or technical course in construction, building maintenance, or a related field preferred.
  • At least 3–5 years of hands-on experience in construction, repair, or maintenance work.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of supervisory or lead worker experience in a construction or maintenance setting.
  • NC II or higher in Carpentry, Masonry, Electrical Installation, Plumbing, or a related trade (TESDA or equivalent).
  • Safety certifications (e.g., Construction Occupational Safety and Health (COSH)).

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, tools, materials, and codes.
  • Familiarity with reading blueprints, drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Ability to lead a team, resolve conflicts, and make sound decisions in the field.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Proficient in scheduling, reporting, and coordinating manpower and resources.
  • Physically fit and able to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including exposure to heat, dust, noise, and heights.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or shifts if project demands require.
  • Valid driver’s license (if applicable).
