A Construction Laborer performs a wide range of physical tasks on construction sites including site preparation, material handling, basic construction support, and cleanup. This role is essential for assisting skilled tradespeople, ensuring work areas are safe and functional, and supporting the overall progress of construction and maintenance projects.The Construction Laborer works under the supervision of foremen or skilled workers and is expected to follow safety protocols, work efficiently, and contribute to a productive job site environment.
Qualifications/Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform manual labor tasks such as digging, lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading materials and equipment.
- Assist skilled workers (carpenters, masons, electricians, plumbers, etc.) with tools, materials, and support duties.
- Set up and dismantle temporary structures such as scaffolding, barricades, and concrete forms.
- Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris, hazardous materials, and obstructions.
- Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete, asphalt, or gravel.
- Operate basic construction tools and equipment such as jackhammers, compactors, and saws under supervision.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Load and unload building materials and distribute them to appropriate locations on-site.
- Perform basic maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Support the team with other duties as assigned by the supervisor or foreman.
Qualifications:
- No formal education required.
- High school diploma or equivalent is an advantage.
- TESDA or vocational training in Construction-related NC I or NC II programs (e.g., Carpentry, Masonry, Scaffolding).
- Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) training is a plus.
Requirements:
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting, bending, standing, etc.) for extended periods.
- Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and work as part of a team.
- Punctual and dependable, with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Capable of working in various weather conditions and on different types of job sites.
- Basic understanding of instructions and safety guidelines.
- Experience in basic carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or electrical work.
- Familiarity with construction site tools and equipment.
- Ability to read basic construction plans or instructions.
