Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Japanese cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen operations, and will be committed to delivering high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and standards
  • Assist in the preparation of Japanese dishes such as sushi, sashimi, tempura, ramen, and grilled items
  • Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstation
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in stock rotation (FIFO)
  • Coordinate with kitchen team members to ensure timely food service
  • Assist in receiving and inspecting deliveries
  • Properly store ingredients and maintain freshness standards

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Line Cook in a Japanese restaurant
  • Knowledge of Japanese ingredients, preparation techniques, and kitchen tools
  • Experience in sushi or hot/cold kitchen stations is a plus
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
