Job Description:

  • Gather and document cultural data on local traditions, practices, and heritage sites through observation and research;
  • Conduct interviews and group discussions to community members to understand their cultural stories, customs, and values;
  • Document findings using written notes, audio, or visual materials while respecting privacy;
  • Coordinate with community leaders and members to plan and carry out field activities;
  • Write and prepare reports or organize collected data for monitoring;
  • Ensure ethical and respectful data collection and follow cultural protocols and get consent before gathering or sharing information;
  • Travel to field locations and visit communities and cultural sites as part of fieldwork.

Skills:

  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace;
  • Knows how to conduct interviews, surveys, or simple research;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, especially when working with communities;
  • Can write simple reports or document findings;
  • Time and Data Management;
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills;
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Graduate of a relevant course (e.g., Anthropology, Sociology, History, Community Development, Philippine Studies or similar);
  • With or without experience, but experience in fieldwork or community work is a plus;
  • Preferably with cultural mapping training or course
  • Respectful and sensitive to different cultures, traditions and communities;
  • Willing to travel and work in the field.
