Position Overview:

As an Accounting and Tax Compliance Officer, you will ensure the company’s compliance with Philippine tax laws by preparing and filing tax returns, maintaining accurate financial records, and coordinating with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).

You will also support the Finance Team in maintaining accurate and timely accounting processes.

Work Schedule and Arrangement: 9:00AM-6:00PM, Onsite

Office Location: 8th floor Skyrise 4B Building, IT Park, Lahug, Cebu City, Cebu

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Compliance and Filing
  • Prepare and submit tax returns and reports to the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) within prescribed deadlines, ensuring full compliance with Philippine tax regulations.
General Ledger Management
  • Maintain and update the General Ledger (GL), ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
BIR Coordination and Compliance
  • Process and monitor BIR registrations, updates, and compliance requirements. Coordinate with BIR representatives regarding tax matters, inquiries, and assessments.
Tax Computation
  • Compute and prepare applicable taxes, including withholding taxes, VAT, percentage taxes, and income taxes, as required.
Documentation and Record Keeping
  • Maintain organized tax records and supporting documents for audit and regulatory purposes.
Accounting Support
  • Assist in other accounting and finance-related tasks, including reconciliations and financial reporting, as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Accountancy, Financial Management, or a related field.
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in tax compliance, accounting, bookkeeping, or audit.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine taxation, BIR regulations, and accounting principles.
  • Experience in preparing tax returns and handling compliance matters.
  • Familiarity with government reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in tax filing processes, including VAT, withholding taxes, and income tax returns is a plus
  • Exposure to financial statement preparation and account reconciliations is a plus
  • Knowledge of local tax regulations and compliance procedures is a plus

Salary and monetary benefits (in PHP):

  • Monthly salary of 22,000php - 28,000php
  • New hire bonus of 5,000php
