The Water Network Engineer is responsible for the design, management, and optimization of water distribution networks, ensuring the efficient and sustainable delivery of water to residential, commercial, and industrial users. This role involves overseeing system planning, installation, operation, and maintenance while ensuring compliance with regulatory and environmental standards.
The position also requires providing technical expertise in business planning, including bulk water supply systems, non-revenue water (NRW) reduction strategies, wastewater systems, and sanitation plans. The Water Network Engineer will conduct hydraulic simulations, develop and implement engineering solutions to improve drinking water and wastewater systems.
Qualifications/Requirements
Educational Attainment:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/ Mechanical/ Water Resources / Sanitary Engineering or a related engineering field.
Work Experience:
- With at least 1-3 years of experience in hydrological and hydraulic analysis, modeling and design, operation and maintenance of water supply and distribution networks.
Technical Competencies:
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Water and/or wastewater networks
- Water and/or wastewater treatment works
- Stormwater and/or irrigation systems
- Hydraulics (flows in pressurized and/or gravity pipelines and/or open channels)
- Mass water conveyance
- Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS) and design tools like AutoCAD, GIS, and related software.
- Experience in tender documents preparation as a basis for construction.
- With deep knowledge and skills in maintaining pipelines and leak detection troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of water distribution systems, including pumps, valves, pipes, and storage systems.
- Familiarity with water treatment processes and environmental regulations.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
