The Hydraulic Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and optimization of water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure. This role focuses on developing hydraulic models, conducting surge and transient analysis, and implementing engineering solutions for bulk water supply, water distribution networks, wastewater conveyance, and drainage systems.The position involves preparing technical reports, feasibility studies, and cost estimates to support project planning, compliance, and execution.
The role requires technical expertise in hydraulic modeling software, pipeline and pump station design, and adherence to regulatory and industry standards. The Hydraulic Engineer will collaborate with planners, project managers, and regulatory bodies to develop efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective water management solutions.
Qualifications/Requirements
Educational Attainment:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/ Mechanical/ Water Resources / Sanitary Engineering or a related engineering field.
Work Experience:
- With at least 1-3 years of experience in hydrological and hydraulic analysis, modeling and design, water supply design, wastewater conveyance, and stormwater drainage projects.
Technical Competencies:
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Water and/or wastewater networks
- Water and/or wastewater treatment works
- Stormwater and/or irrigation systems
- Hydraulics (flows in pressurized and/or gravity pipelines and/or open channels)
- Mass water conveyance
- Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, EPANET, InfoWorks).
- Expertise in pipeline, pump station, and reservoir design.
- Experience conducting surge and transient analysis for water and wastewater systems.
- Knowledge of tender document preparation, cost estimation, and technical proposal writing.
- Familiarity with water distribution and wastewater treatment processes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, and other relevant design tools and Project Management tools and software.
