About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Litigation Lawyer to join our team at our office in Makati City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise in litigation and dispute resolution within a dynamic and supportive environment.As a Litigation Lawyer, you will play a vital role in representing clients in a variety of civil, commercial and corporate disputes. This position is integral to our litigation practice and will allow you to work on significant matters whilst developing your legal skills and building meaningful client relationships.
Key responsibilities- Conducting legal research and analysis on complex litigation matters and advising clients on merits, risks and strategies
- Drafting and preparing pleadings, motions, briefs and other legal documents required in court proceedings
- Preparing and organising case files, evidence and supporting documentation for trial and hearings
- Participating in client meetings and conferences to understand case facts, objectives and constraints
- Conducting discovery processes and managing disclosure obligations in accordance with court rules and procedures
- Appearing and representing clients at court hearings, trials and other dispute resolution proceedings as directed
- Liaising with courts, opposing counsel and other stakeholders to manage case progress and timelines
- Supporting senior lawyers in trial preparation, including witness interviews and evidence review
- Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring compliance with procedural requirements and deadlines
- Contributing to the development of litigation strategy and providing input on case management decisions
- Preferably with 1-2 years of post-qualification experience in litigation and dispute resolution practice
- Strong knowledge of civil and criminal procedure, evidence and relevant substantive law applicable to commercial and corporate disputes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex legal arguments clearly and persuasively
- Strong legal research and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Proficiency in conducting legal writing, drafting pleadings and preparing trial materials
- Ability to manage multiple cases concurrently and work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines
- Professional integrity and commitment to ethical practice standards
- Strong interpersonal and client-handling skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships
- Proficiency in using legal research databases and case management software
- Willingness to continue professional development and stay current with developments in litigation practice
