Executive search firm Monroe Consulting Group Philippines is recruiting on behalf of an Australia-based real estate investment and funds management company that delivers strong financial returns through a data-driven, technology-enabled approach for institutional and wholesale investors.
You'll partner closely with executive leadership, providing insights through forecasting, budgeting, and financial modelling that support key business decisions. Beyond reporting, you'll drive improvements in financial systems, strengthen internal controls, and collaborate with auditors, tax agents, and cross-functional teams.
Our client is currently looking for a Senior Corporate Accountant to lead an accounting team that will be based in Rockwell, Makati.

In this role, you'll guide and mentor a talented accounting team while ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong tax compliance, and high-quality financial operations across the EG group.You'll partner closely with executive leadership, providing insights through forecasting, budgeting, and financial modelling that support key business decisions. What You'll Do:
- Manage and lead the accounting team ensuring effective workload distribution, coaching, and performance management.
- Provide strategic guidance and technical expertise to support the team in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting and tax compliance across the EG group of entities.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture focused on continuous improvement and professional development.
- Oversee the timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting across the EG group, ensuring alignment with internal and Board-level reporting requirements.
- Provide final review and sign-off on group-wide financial statements and reports, including the audited statutory financials for the EG AFSL entity.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions, reconciliations, and reporting outputs prepared by the team.
- Review and monitor the preparation of AFSL calculations, tax reconciliations, income tax returns, and indirect tax filings, ensuring timely lodgment and adherence to tax laws and ATO expectations.
- Support executive leadership with financial insights, including cash flow forecasting, budgeting, valuations, and financial modelling.
- Review and support the delivery of ad hoc advisory projects, working with stakeholders to assess business performance and financial impacts.
- Identify and lead initiatives to improve financial systems, internal controls, and reporting efficiency.
- Act as the finance lead in cross-departmental collaboration, resolving accounting or compliance queries raised by internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain strong external relationships with auditors, tax agents, and banking partners to support the EG group's financial health and regulatory standing.
- Lead the development and implementation of finance policies, procedures, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and mitigate risk.
- Manage and deliver finance-related mini projects, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives.
- Ensure that the finance function supports business continuity, risk management, and decision-making processes.
- Stay current with changes in tax legislation and accounting standards, advising the business and implementing changes as needed.
What we're looking for:
- With at least 10 years experience in an accounting role and 3-5 years managing a team of accountants.
- CPA and with other Accounting certifications preferred.
- Proven experience in building, leading, and mentoring strong, collaborative teams that consistently deliver high performance. An excellent senior team member who can (professionally and culturally) develop other members of the team, foster accountability, and effectively monitor and track each team member's tasks and deliverables and overall performance to ensure team goals are met
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills with the ability to clearly and comfortably present and explain reports to senior management during financial review meetings.
- Brings confidence and credibility to senior-level discussions, communicate clearly through concise and well-structured reports.
- Demonstrates strong ownership of tasks and deadlines, with the flexibility to extend working hours when necessary to ensure deliverables are completed to a high standard. Highly proactive and always one step ahead, plans work effectively, avoids last-minute cramming, and consistently builds in sufficient lead time before deadlines to ensure outputs are delivered on time-or, whenever possible, ahead of schedule.
- Proven knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, laws, rules, and regulations.
- Experience with a real estate company and knowledge of accounting for real estate assets advantageous.
- Preferably with AU accounting background and knowledgeable in using MYOB and Xero-certified.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills is a must, including ability to run macros, V-lookups, and H-lookups.
- Advance level in using Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Dropbox and Trello.
- Highly organized. Capable of working independently, with high attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and accuracy of data entry.
- Willing to work onsite 4 days a week. Official work hours: 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM (PH Time)
