Job description:
The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial health of an organization by managing budgeting, financial planning, risk management, and reporting. This role ensures compliance with financial regulations and company policies while providing strategic insights to support business decision-making.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Develop and oversee financial strategies to align with organizational goals.
- Prepare financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses to support strategic decision-making.
- Accounting & Reporting:
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with accounting standards.
- Monitor financial statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Budgeting & Cost Management:
- Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor adherence.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial efficiency.
- Review and control expenditures to ensure optimal resource allocation.
- Risk Management & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and internal policies.
- Assess financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies as required.
- Investment & Fund Management:
- Analyze investment opportunities to maximize returns.
- Manage cash flow and liquidity to support operational needs.
- Maintain relationships with banks, investors, and financial institutions.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Supervise and mentor finance team members.
- Collaborate with other departments to align financial planning with business operations.
- Present financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Performs other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA, ACCA) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial management principles, accounting standards, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
