Collections Senior Associate

Overall purpose, duties and responsibilities of the role:

The Collections Sr. Associate acts as the subject matter expert on all systems being used for collections operations and is expected to demonstrate a generalist understanding of all collections processes and activities. He supports the Collection Specialist and the Collections Manager by owning the following responsibilities:

• Ensure that all key collections activities for recurring collections channels are executed accurately and timely.
• Provide meaningful report and analysis on the effectiveness of existing recurring collections channel. Identify actual and emerging issues and coordinate with the Collections Specialist for immediate resolution.
• Assist the Collections Supervisor in managing and addressing issues and concerns raised related to collections.
• Ensure accurate and timely release of communications to the clients assigned to him/her.
• Ensures effective records management for key processed and activities of the team.
• Performing diligent end-of-day checks and other relevant controls in the absence of the Collection Specialist.

• Train other members of the team with the use of systems for recurring collections channels to ensure that contingency capability is in place.
• Maintain expert technical knowledge in the use of the collections system.
• Propose process improvement initiatives to improve collections performance.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

• Should be a holder a bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent education or qualification.
• At least 2 years collections-related working experience, preferable with life insurance operations
• Experience and familiarity with SAP or other ERP system and business analytics tools.
• Good Interpersonal skills.
