Environmental officer

About the role

Environmental Officer responsible for helping organizations comply with environmental laws, reduce environmental impact, and promote sustainable practices. The role exists in industries such as construction, manufacturing, mining, energy, government, NGOs, and corporate sustainability programs.

• Ensure continuous compliance with all applicable environmental laws, rules, regulations, permits, and company environmental policies.
• Plan, develop, implement, and monitor environmental protection and enhancement programs related to exploration and/or mining operations.
• Mitigate environmental impacts of exploration and/or mining operations and related activities through proper environmental management practices.
• Prepare and submit environmental monitoring and regulatory reports, and provide accurate environmental data to support management decision-making.
• Establish and maintain good relationships with regulators, local government units, stakeholders, and non-government organizations to promote a positive company image.
• Implement environmental innovations, research, and development projects in partnership with academic institutions and other organizations.
• Facilitate, monitor, oversee and support the operationalization of the Environmental Work Program (EWP)
• Ensure proper documentation, environmental monitoring, and audit compliance related to environmental programs and commitments.

• Preferably but not required to be a Licensed Mining Engineer or Licensed Geologist, Environmental or any science courses-graduate
• With experience in environmental management, exploration/mining operations, or regulatory compliance is an advantage.
• Knowledgeable in environmental laws, DENR regulations, ECC compliance, and mine rehabilitation programs.
• Strong reporting, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
