Real Estate Accountant / CPA (Remote)

Full-time | Remote | U.S. Pacific Time (Los Angeles)

• Maintain accurate accounting records for multiple real estate entities and properties
• Manage accounts payable, vendor payments, and accounts receivable
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, loan accounts, and escrow accounts
• Record and track property income, rental collections, operating expenses, and capital expenditures
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Monitor property-level profitability, cash flow, and budgets
• Track mortgages, loans, interest payments, and lender reporting requirements
• Assist with acquisition, disposition, and refinancing accounting activities
• Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules
• Prepare investor, ownership, and management reports as requested
• Coordinate with external CPAs and tax professionals for year-end reporting and tax preparation
• Support payroll processing, contractor payments, and 1099 reporting
• Identify accounting discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
• Maintain strong internal controls and accurate supporting documentation

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA designation preferred but not required
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience supporting U.S.-based businesses
• At least 2 years of real estate accounting experience preferred
• Experience with rental properties, commercial real estate, property management, or real estate investment firms strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of real estate financial statements, loan accounting, and cash flow reporting
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
• Experience with AppFolio, Buildium, Yardi, or similar property management software is a plus
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
