[Project-based] Business Analyst

The Business Analyst will lead requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation, ensuring all business needs are clearly defined, structured, and aligned with system capabilities. The role includes workflow creation, UI requirements management, and translating requirements into user stories for development teams.

The BA will actively engage stakeholders through calls and workshops, ensuring that all requirements account for dependencies, prerequisites, and business rules, particularly within payroll processes.

• Lead requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders through calls, workshops, and interviews.
• Analyze and document detailed business and functional requirements for payroll system development.
• Translate requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and detailed documentation for cross-functional teams.
• Create and maintain end-to-end workflows, process maps, and system flows.
• Manage and define UI/UX requirements, ensuring alignment with business needs and usability standards.
• Ensure all requirements consider dependencies, constraints, and prerequisites across modules.
• Collaborate closely with developers, QA, and product teams to clarify requirements and ensure proper implementation.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and review sessions.
• Support and validate deliverables during User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Maintain well-organized documentation including BRDs, user stories, workflows, and change logs.
• Proactively identify gaps, risks, and process improvement opportunities.

• Duration: 6 months (project-based engagement)
• Focus: Payroll system requirements, workflows, and UI specifications
• Work Setup: Collaborative engagement with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field

Experience:

• 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in IT or software development projects
• Proven experience in end-to-end requirements gathering and documentation
• Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Experience handling workflow creation and process mapping

Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Proficiency in requirements documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, Jira, Visio, Figma, or similar)
• Ability to manage UI/UX requirements and collaborate with design teams
• Knowledge of data structures, APIs, or system integrations is an advantage

• Experience working on HRIS or payroll systems
• Knowledge of Philippine payroll processes, statutory requirements, and compliance
• Exposure to UI/UX collaboration or product design workflows
