The Procurement Engineer – HV/MV Electrical supports procurement activities for solar farm and BESS projects across Australia and New Zealand, with a focus on high- and medium-voltage electrical equipment. Working remotely, the role assists project teams with sourcing suppliers, evaluating quotations, coordinating procurement documentation, and ensuring technical and commercial compliance for electrical infrastructure packages.
Job Description:
- Support procurement delivery in line with project schedules and technical requirements.
- Identify and engage suppliers for HV/MV equipment including transformers, switchgear, cables, protection systems, and balance-of-plant electrical components.
- Prepare RFQs and tender packages for electrical equipment and services.
- Conduct technical and commercial bid evaluations against project specifications.
- Assist with pricing analysis, comparisons, and supplier recommendations.
- Support issuance and tracking of purchase orders.
- Monitor supplier documentation, manufacturing progress, and delivery schedules.
- Maintain procurement databases and documentation.
- Source supplier pricing for HV/MV equipment and installation packages.
- Support bid teams with cost data, technical comparisons, and supplier options.
- Assist in developing procurement strategies during tender phases.
- Provide benchmarking of electrical equipment pricing across suppliers.
- Track procurement progress and report updates to the Procurement Manager.
- Assist with cost tracking and variance monitoring.
- Liaise with engineering and project teams to confirm material requirements.
- Ensure procurement activities align with construction timelines.
- Escalate issues to the Procurement Manager for resolution.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, integrity, and respect.
- Share knowledge and assist with team training and development where appropriate.
- Responsible for ensuring that decisions are made within approved business unit budget and financial delegated authority.
- Provide regular reporting to Manager on status of all work (as relevant).

- Proactively seek opportunities to save unnecessary costs to the project (without compromising quality).
- Contribute to the project review process, ensuring problems identified and possible solutions developed and feedback to operations team.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, Business or related field
- 3+ years’ experience in a procurement or supply chain role, ideally within construction or renewable energy, control systems or automation projects
- Experience issuing and managing RFQs, purchase orders, and basic supplier agreements
- Understanding of SCADA, communications infrastructure, or industrial control systems
- Understanding of procurement documentation, technical specifications, and construction drawings
- Experience with ERP or procurement systems
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills and ability to work remotely with international teams
