Lead Power BI Developer

LexisNexis is seeking a highly skilled and self-directed Power BI Developer to join our Customer Insights team. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-impact Power BI dashboards and data models that translate complex customer and business data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders, including senior leadership.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, has deep expertise in Power BI and DAX, and maintains a high standard of quality and accuracy in reporting deliverables. They will partner closely with internal stakeholders and teams to support data-driven decision-making.

Accountabilities:

• Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic models for customer insights use cases
• Develop and optimize complex DAX measures and calculations to support advanced analytics and reporting needs
• Partner with Customer Insights stakeholders to translate business requirements, metrics, KPIs, and analyses into scalable, well-structured Power BI solutions
• Ensure data accuracy, performance optimization, and usability across dashboards
• Manage Power BI datasets, refresh schedules, and access/security controls
• Document data models, calculations, and dashboard logic for long-term maintainability
• Work independently to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and deliver high-quality outputs
• Support ad hoc analysis and iterative dashboard enhancements as business needs evolve
• Create and maintain employee hierarchies and associated row level security

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
• 6+ years of experience developing solutions in Power BI
• Strong expertise in DAX, including complex measures, time intelligence, and optimization
• Experience building robust data models and working with large or complex datasets
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Experience partnering directly with business or insights stakeholders

Nice-to-have:

• Familiarity with SQL and data transformations (e.g., Power Query / M)
• Experience working with survey or research data
• Experience designing dashboards for executive audiences
• Knowledge of data governance and best practices for BI environments
