About the role
Geoharbour Construction Philippines Inc. is seeking a talented Purchasing Engineer to join our dynamic team. The Purchasing Engineer is responsible for handling procurement activities at the project site, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating prices, and managing contracts to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of construction materials, equipment, and services.The role involves close coordination with site engineers, project management, and suppliers to support smooth project execution and compliance with company procurement policies. This is a full-time position based in our office in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, Metro Manila.
What you'll be doing- Source, evaluate, and recommend reliable suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers for project requirements.
- Obtain and review quotations, analyze costs, and prepare bid comparisons to support procurement decisions.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, warranties, and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve best value.
- Prepare and administer purchase orders and supplier contracts in line with project requirements.
- Coordinate closely with site engineers, project managers, and warehouse teams to determine material specifications, quantities, and delivery schedules.
- Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials and equipment to avoid project delays.
- Monitor supplier performance on quality, delivery, and compliance with agreed terms.
- Resolve procurement-related issues at the project site, including discrepancies in deliveries, quality issues, and urgent requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of purchase orders, supplier contracts, and procurement records.
- Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, safety standards, and legal requirements.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within the construction.
- Proven track record of managing complex procurement projects and negotiations with suppliers
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and supplier markets.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Licensed Engineer is a PLUS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
