Business Development Officer (Landlord & Mall Relations)

Reporting Line
  • Reports to the VP for Operations
  • Works closely with ExCom, Finance, and Legal

Role Overview

Responsible for managing landlord and mall relationships, overseeing lease contracts across all stores, and supporting site sourcing for new locations. Ensures all lease terms, rentals, and charges are accurate, commercially sound, and aligned with store performance.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Landlord & Mall Relations
  • Manage relationships with landlords and mall leasing teams across all stores
  • Handle day-to-day coordination, concerns, and escalations
  1. Contract Management
  • Track and manage all lease agreements, renewals, and key dates
  • Maintain organized records of all contracts and supporting documents
  1. Lease Review & Cost Monitoring
  • Review rental structures (fixed rent, percentage rent, CAM, dues, utilities)
  • Validate landlord billings with Finance
  • Flag discrepancies, overcharges, or unfavorable terms
  1. Negotiation & Renewals
  • Support and gradually lead lease negotiations and renewals
  • Work with VP Ops and ExCom to secure favorable commercial terms
  1. Site Sourcing
  • Identify potential new locations in malls and key trade areas
  • Build pipeline of upcoming sites and maintain landlord network
  • Assist in feasibility and site evaluation
  1. Coordination
  • Work with Finance, Legal, and Operations on lease-related matters
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance
Approval & Authority
  • No lease or renewal may be finalized without:
  • VP Operations approval
-ExCom sign-off
  • Role is responsible for accuracy and completeness, not final approval

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Real Estate, or related field
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years experience in:
  • Landlord/mall relations
  • Lease coordination or contract management

-Restaurant or multi-branch retail environment (required)

  • Strong attention to detail (contracts and numbers)
  • Good negotiation and communication skills
  • Organized and process-driven
  • Basic commercial understanding (rent vs sales impact)
