Process Engineering Manager
About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Process Engineering Manager to join our team at First Sumiden Circuits Inc. in Cabuyao City, Laguna. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible in leading the development, optimization, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality, cost efficiency, and operational excellence.
What you'll be doing- Lead and optimize manufacturing processes to improve quality, productivity, yield, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Manage and develop the Process Engineering team through performance management, coaching, employee relations, and technical capability building.
- Drive process improvement initiatives by leading troubleshooting, root cause analysis, SPC, corrective and preventive actions, and cost reduction projects.
- Develop and implement engineering standards, procedures, and technical solutions while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and operational requirements.
- Collaborate with Production and cross-functional teams to ensure efficient resource utilization, timely project execution, and resolution of process and customer-related issues.
What we're looking for:
Education- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Materials, Industrial, Mechanical, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
- Master’s degree or relevant technical training is an advantage.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in FPC, PCB, or other manufacturing industries.
- At least 3–5 years of managerial experience in Process Engineering or a related function.
- Experience in upper process and plating/wet process is an advantage.
- Proven track record in process improvement, yield enhancement, defect reduction, and team leadership.
Technical Competencies
The candidate should demonstrate strong knowledge and experience in:
- Strong knowledge of FPC manufacturing, especially upper and plating processes is an advantage.
- Good understanding of electro/electroless plating, chemical process control, surface treatment, and wet process operations
- Skilled in root cause analysis, process optimization, SPC, FMEA, and DOE
- Familiar with quality systems, process documentation, and engineering change control
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Decisive, analytical, and data-driven in decision-making.
- Excellent coaching, mentoring, and performance management skills.
- Strong planning, organizing, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a Japanese manufacturing culture emphasizing discipline, teamwork, continuous improvement, and accountability.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
