Payroll Specialist

An HR Payroll Specialist plays a crucial role in managing employee compensation, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing, and ensuring compliance with legal and organizational standards.
  • Process payrolls for all employees accurately and on time, ensuring deductions, overtime, bonuses, and other adjustments are applied correctly.
  • Ensure that all payroll changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, promotions) are accurately entered into the system.
  • Calculate and manage payroll for both salaried and hourly employees.
  • Prepare payroll reports for management, accounting, and finance departments.
  • Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve any issues related to underpayments or overpayments.
  • Maintain payroll records for auditing purposes.
  • Track and manage employee leave balances, including sick leave, vacation, and other types of leave.
  • Ensure proper documentation and processing of leave time for payroll calculations.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all payroll information and adhere to data protection policies.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of payroll processing experience
  • At least 1–2 years of project management experience or involvement in payroll-related projects (e.g., system implementation, process improvement)
  • Experience handling end-to-end payroll cycles (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly)
  • Strong knowledge of local labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory compliance (e.g., SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG in the Philippines)
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
  • Familiarity with HRIS and timekeeping systems
