Sous chef
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our team at LA CARNE BUTCHERY & STEAK BAR, owned and operated by AG FOODTECH in Cebu City, Cebu. As Sous Chef, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in the day-to-day operations of our busy kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation are consistently maintained.
This is a full-time position that will see you working closely with La Carne team to oversee all aspects of kitchen management from menu planning to food service operations.
What you'll be doing- Assist the Head Chef in menu development, costing, recipe creation, and food preparation
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including scheduling, task delegation, and quality control
- Manage kitchen staff, providing training and mentorship to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
- Maintain strict inventory control and ordering processes to minimise waste and maximise efficiency
- Work closely with the Front of House team to ensure seamless service and a positive customer experience
- Minimum 2 years of working experience within a high quality casual dining restaurant. Formal culinary training or a degree in Culinary Arts or a related field is preferred.
- Basic butchery skills on beef and lamb
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, food and fire safety regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team
