Psychometrician

Summary of Work Activities and Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Coordinator of the AGS Testing and Research Office, the Psychometrician aids in performing various tasks of the Testing and Research Office, which are the following:

• Admission testing
• Guidance testing
• Faculty recruitment
• Sequential assessment
• Research

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Test Procurement, Administration, Interpretation and Safekeeping

• Assists in the implementation of the school’s testing program through the administration, scoring and interpretation of tests, standardized or otherwise, for admission, guidance, placement or other screening purposes
• Produces test reports for submission to the offices concerned
• Assists in the administration of psychological tests to AGS student referrals and helps in the interpretation of these as well as in the preparation of psychological evaluation write-ups, when necessary
• Facilitates the procurement of testing materials
• Manages the storage and safekeeping of test materials

1. Recruitment

• Facilitates the administration and interpretation of tests to Grade School faculty applicants as part of their initial screening
• Facilitates the preparation of reports on the Grade School faculty applicants for submission to the offices concerned
• Provides sequential testing and produces reports of Year 3 Grade School faculty as part of their final evaluation for permanency
• Interviews applicants when necessary, especially for sequential testing

1. Research

• Provides customized, statistical, and psychometric analysis support for test development and research
• Generates statistical reports and prepares write-up of the results of surveys and evaluations of Grade School office

1. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor–the Testing and Research Office Coordinator–or any authorized representative

• Data Interpretation and Presentation: Skilled in analyzing data sets, creating formulas, designing templates, and developing presentations to communicate insights effectively
• Basic Statistical Analysis: Proficient in applying foundational statistical methods to design survey and evaluation templates that generate clear, actionable reports
• Technological Savvy: Demonstrates proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel, and Canva with the ability to quickly learn relevant applications
• Coordination Skills: Ability to proactively coordinate, mediate, and manage actions in relation to others
• Effective Communication Skills: Proficient in communicating effectively both verbally and in writing to convey information clearly and concisely
• Organizational and Administrative Skills: Possesses strong organizational abilities to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities

• Compliance Management: Knowledge of research ethics guidelines, data protection regulations and standards; ensures adherence to institutional policies, procedures, and applicable laws (e.g. Data Privacy Act)

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in BS or AB Psychology
• Licensed Psychometrician
• With knowledge in psychometrics and projective techniques, statistics, educational assessment, and research
• With work experience in test administration and interpretation, psychological report making
