  1. Inventory Auditing:
Conduct physical inventory counts and ensure records are accurate.
Reconcile physical counts with accounting records.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical inventory and accounting books.
  1. Data Verification:
Verify that inventory is correctly valued in line with company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory standards.
Review inventory transactions, stock movements, and adjustments.
  1. Reporting:
Prepare audit reports highlighting discrepancies, findings, and areas of improvement.
Report audit findings to senior management, offering actionable recommendations.
  1. Internal Controls:
Assess and evaluate internal controls related to inventory management.
Recommend improvements to inventory procedures to reduce errors and improve efficiency.
  1. Coordination:
Collaborate with procurement, warehousing, and production departments to ensure accurate inventory reporting.
Assist in month-end or year-end inventory closing procedures.
  1. Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure inventory procedures comply with financial and legal regulations, including tax and audit standards.
Support external auditors during annual audits.
  1. Trend Analysis & Forecasting:
Analyze inventory turnover rates, stock levels, and demand to support better inventory management.

Use data to assist with forecasting inventory needs.

Qualifications/Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Skills & Experience:
Audit Experience: Prior experience in auditing (either in an internal or external capacity) and understanding audit methodologies
Analytical Skills: Ability to identify discrepancies, perform reconciliations, and analyze complex financial and inventory data.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy when reconciling records or conducting physical counts.
Problem-Solving: Capability to address and resolve discrepancies or issues within inventory processes.

Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to prepare audit reports and explain findings to management.
