We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior People and Culture Specialist (Payroll and HR) to join our dynamic team. This position provides key support to our People and Culture function, with a focus on accurate payroll management, HR process improvement, and enabling a positive team member experience.

Key Payroll Specialist Responsibilities
  • Lead the accurate and timely end-to-end processing of company payroll, including new starters, terminations, leave, and adjustments
  • Ensure full compliance with all statutory payroll requirements and maintain up-to-date payroll records
  • Reconcile payroll discrepancies and respond proactively to employee payroll queries
  • Support the annual audit process and prepare payroll-related reporting as required
  • Continuously seek opportunities to digitise and improve payroll procedures for enhanced accuracy and efficiency
Senior HR Specialist Duties
  • Provide expert support across the People and Culture lifecycle: onboarding, induction, employee changes, and offboarding
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legislation
  • Advise managers and team members on payroll, reward/benefits, and general HR issues
  • Coordinate cyclical HR activities (performance reviews, training, wellbeing initiatives)
  • Maintain HR information systems and provide regular people analytics reporting
  • Support ongoing projects to improve HR systems, processes, and the overall team member experience
People and Culture: Skills and Competencies
  • In-depth Australian payroll knowledge and hands-on payroll processing experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of HR policies, processes, and current legislation
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Problem-solving mindset and a proactive, resourceful approach
  • Meticulous attention to detail, highly organised, and deadline oriented
  • Strong collaboration skills and a passion for fostering an inclusive, positive workplace culture
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement with sensitive matters
Qualifications and Experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Payroll, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • At least 3-4+ years’ experience in a senior payroll, HR administration, or People and Culture role
  • Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems; strong Excel skills highly regarded
  • Solid understanding of Australian Fair Work legislation, awards, and NES
