A Second Engineer is the senior engine officer responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of all shipboard machinery under the Chief Engineer's guidance. They manage the engine room team, ensure compliance with safety/pollution regulations (MARPOL), manage fuel/oil transfers, and maintain machinery for reliable propulsion and power generation.
Qualifications/Requirements- At least College Graduate (Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering
- With experience as OIC-Engine or Third Engineer on similar vessel
- Strong knowledge of engine room operations and preventive maintenance
