Safety Officer
About the role
Join Unahco, Inc.' as a Safety Officer based in Mandaluyong City Metro Manila. As a Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of our employees across our construction sites. This is a full-time position that will see you working closely with our project teams to identify, assess, and mitigate risks, as well as promoting a strong safety culture throughout the organisation.
What you'll be doing- Conducting regular safety inspections and audits in our plants nationwide.
- Developing and implementing comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and training programmes to foster a culture of safety awareness and compliance
- Investigating and reporting on all incidents and accidents, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Collaborating with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure that all construction activities are carried out in accordance with relevant health and safety regulations
- Staying up-to-date with industry best practices and changes in health and safety legislation, and advising the organisation accordingly
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to safety performance and compliance
- A degree or certification in Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar role within the construction industry
- Thorough understanding of relevant health and safety legislation, as well as the ability to interpret and apply these regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks in a proactive manner
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with employees at all levels
- Proficiency in using safety-related software and tools to monitor and report on safety performance
