Employee Relations Officer

Job Summary:
The Employee Relations Officer ensures a positive and compliant work environment across the restaurant company. This role handles employee concerns, supports management in HR matters, and fosters strong workplace relationships, helping to maintain high morale in a fast-paced restaurant setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations & Conflict Resolution:
- Act as the first point of contact for employee issues, concerns, or grievances.
- Investigate complaints, mediate disputes, and provide fair solutions.
- Advise managers and staff on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
Policy Implementation & Compliance:
- Ensure consistent application of HR policies across all restaurant locations.
- Communicate updates to policies, procedures, and labor law requirements.
- Monitor compliance with labor laws and company standards.
Performance & Conduct Support:
- Assist managers in handling disciplinary actions, performance issues, and terminations.
- Maintain accurate records of employee performance, grievances, and resolutions.
Employee Engagement & Retention:
- Promote initiatives to boost staff morale, engagement, and retention in a high-turnover environment.
- Conduct feedback sessions or surveys to gather employee insights and recommend improvements.
Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare reports on employee relations trends, complaints, and resolutions.
Analyze patterns and provide recommendations to improve workplace culture.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in employee relations within a restaurant or hospitality company.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to mediate and negotiate effectively.
- High discretion and integrity in handling sensitive information.
- Ability to build trust with employees and management at all levels.
- Analytical mindset for identifying trends and improving workplace culture.
- Willing to do field work.
