Sales/Business Development Manager

The Sales and Business Development Manager will be responsible for leading and executing the company's sales and business development strategies to achieve ambitious growth targets within the food industry. This role requires a proactive and results-oriented individual with a deep understanding of the food market, excellent relationship-building skills, and a proven track record of identifying and securing new business opportunities.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in expanding our customer base, strengthening client relationships, and introducing new products/services to the market.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sales & Business Development:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales and business development strategies to achieve revenue goals and market share expansion.
- Identify and target new business opportunities within the food industry, including but not limited to Horeca (Hotels, Restaurants, Cafes), retail chains, food service providers, distributors, and e-commerce platforms.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, competitive landscapes, and potential new product/service offerings.
- Contribute to the development of annual sales forecasts and budgets.
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management:
- Proactively prospect, qualify, and acquire new clients through various channels (cold calling, networking, industry events, referrals, etc.).
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders at client organizations.
- Understand client needs and tailor solutions to meet their specific requirements, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Negotiate and close sales agreements, ensuring profitability and adherence to company policies.
Product & Market Expertise:
- Develop a deep understanding of the company's product portfolio, features, benefits, and competitive advantages.
- Effectively present and demonstrate products/services to prospective and existing clients.
- Provide market feedback to the product development and marketing teams to inform future strategies.
Team Collaboration & Leadership:
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies and customer satisfaction.
Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance analyses.
- Monitor sales metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
- Track sales activities, manage pipelines, and maintain accurate customer data.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive sales and business development experience, specifically within the food industry.
- Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Demonstrated experience in new client acquisition and growing existing accounts.
- Experience with both B2B and B2C channels within the food sector is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with the food market and key players is a significant advantage.

Working Conditions:
- Primarily office-based with significant travel required for client meetings, industry events, and trade shows.
