The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the housekeeping staff to ensure that all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation.

This role includes planning and assigning work, inspecting rooms and facilities, training staff, managing inventory of supplies, and ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety protocols. The Housekeeping Supervisor works closely with other departments such as front office, maintenance, or facility management to ensure guest or client satisfaction.

Qualifications/Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of housekeeping staff including room attendants, public area cleaners, and laundry workers.
  • Inspect rooms and common areas to ensure cleanliness, proper arrangement, and compliance with set standards.
  • Prepare work schedules and assignments for housekeeping personnel based on occupancy or operational needs.
  • Conduct training sessions on cleaning procedures, use of equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Maintain inventory and ensure stock levels of cleaning supplies, linens, and amenities are adequate.
  • Handle guest or client complaints and resolve service issues promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and hygiene standards in accordance with company policy and local regulations.
  • Coordinate with front desk, maintenance, and laundry departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Keep daily reports and assist in budget control for housekeeping supplies and labor costs.
  • Promote a positive and respectful work environment by motivating and mentoring team members.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Diploma or certification in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Housekeeping NC II (TESDA or equivalent), or related field is a plus.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in housekeeping, with 1 year in a supervisory or team leader role in a hotel, hospital, or similar environment.

Requirements:

  • Solid knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment use, and sanitation standards.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physically able to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Familiarity with inventory systems, housekeeping software (e.g., Opera, Maestro), or manual tracking is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality service and cleanliness.
