Position Summary

The Inventory Control Assistant is responsible for monitoring, recording, and maintaining accurate inventory levels of products, supplies, materials, and equipment. The role supports inventory planning, stock monitoring, receiving, issuance, reconciliation, and reporting to ensure efficient inventory management and minimize losses.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor stock levels and inventory movements.
• Maintain accurate inventory records in the inventory management system.
• Track incoming and outgoing inventory transactions.
• Ensure proper stock rotation and organization of inventory items.
• Monitor reorder points and notify management of low stock levels.

• Receive deliveries and verify quantities against purchase orders and delivery documents.
• Inspect items for completeness and damage.
• Record inventory receipts and stock issuances accurately.
• Prepare receiving reports and inventory documentation.

• Conduct regular physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
• Reconcile physical inventory with system records.
• Investigate inventory variances and discrepancies.
• Assist in annual inventory audits.

• Maintain inventory files, stock cards, and supporting documents.
• Prepare inventory reports, stock movement reports, and variance reports.
• Update inventory databases and spreadsheets.
• Assist in generating inventory forecasts and usage reports.

• Ensure proper storage and labeling of inventory items.
• Monitor product expiration dates when applicable.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas.
• Follow inventory handling and safety procedures.

• Coordinate with purchasing, accounting, warehouse, and operations departments.
• Assist in processing stock requests and replenishment requirements.
• Communicate inventory issues to supervisors and management.
