Senior Accountant-Controller

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant–Controller is responsible for managing the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, and internal controls for renewable energy projects and operations. The role ensures accurate and timely financial records, compliance with regulatory and lender requirements, and proper monitoring of project costs and company finances.

1. Supervises financial reporting to ensure financial information are reliable and accounting operations activities are recorded in accordance with applicable accounting standards and aligned with company policies
2. Oversee timely preparation and submission of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial statements, reports, and analysis
3. Consolidates budgets, reforecast, forward plans, and other management reports reflecting relevant variances; manages the monthly consolidation activities of the group
4. Reviews policies and processes in compliance with accounting, tax, governance and regulatory requirements, as well as in compliance with contract rates; ensures consistency of policies across the group
5. Provides technical guidance in the financial evaluation of existing and new accounting principles, standards, taxation rules and regulations
6. Develops, enhances, and implements processes and procedures that will address complex and unique transactions arising from expansion of operations
7. Determines operational and financial impact of weak internal controls and recommends mitigating controls to lessen such impact
8. Oversees compliance with existing policies and procedures and timely resolution of audit findings
9. Coordinates with counterparties including but not limited to the Independent Electricity Market Operator (IEMOP)
10. Collaborate with senior management to provide financial insights for strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

• At least 10 years of full-time accounting or financial management experience (at least 5 years of which were spent working at the top 5 reputable audit firms in the Philippines and doing public accounting and external audit in the energy sector).
• Strong understanding and application of International Financial Reporting Standards.
• Background in handling full-cycle accounting and month-end/year-end closing
• Experience in renewable energy, power, construction, infrastructure, or project-based industries is preferred
• Experience coordinating with auditors, banks, government agencies, and external stakeholders
• Supervisory or team management experience is an advantage
• Familiarity with project financing, CAPEX monitoring, and cost control is preferred

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficient in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Good understanding of taxation and regulatory compliance
