Senior accountant

Job Description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily accounting operations, preparing accurate financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This role involves handling complex accounting tasks, assisting in audits, and supporting management in financial planning and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Lead and coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Ensure adherence to internal control policies and accounting procedures.
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns and other statutory filings.
• Provide support in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and system efficiencies.
• Work closely with other departments to ensure proper accounting treatment of transactions.

Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or equivalent certification (preferred).
• 4–7 years of solid accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).
• Advanced MS Excel skills and data analysis capability.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.

Remarks

Amenable working conditions:

• Assigned for Dumaguete investments, based in Head Office
• Full-time Onsite Makati-Head Office
• Monday to Friday, 8:00AM-6:00PM
