A Retail Leasing Officer is responsible for managing the leasing of retail spaces within commercial properties such as shopping malls, retail parks, or mixed-use developments. This role acts as a bridge between property owners (landlords) and retail tenants, ensuring optimal occupancy, rental income, and tenant mix.
✅ Key Responsibilities- Lease Management
- Identify and secure suitable tenants for available retail spaces.
- Negotiate lease terms and conditions (rent, duration, fit-out period, etc.).
- Prepare and review lease agreements in coordination with legal teams.
- Tenant Relations
- Maintain strong relationships with existing tenants.
- Address tenant inquiries or concerns regarding lease terms or space usage.
- Coordinate tenant move-ins, fit-outs, and move-outs.
- Market Research & Analysis
- Analyze retail market trends and competitor offerings.
- Recommend rental rates based on market conditions.
- Identify gaps in the current tenant mix and propose ideal brands or concepts.
- Marketing & Promotion
- Assist in marketing vacant spaces through various channels.
- Coordinate property tours and site visits with potential tenants.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to promote the property and attract quality tenants.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate leasing records and databases.
- Provide regular reports on leasing status, occupancy rates, and rent collections.
- Monitor lease expirations and renewals proactively.
- Financial Oversight

- Help forecast rental income for budgeting purposes.

- Key Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing
- Experience: 2–5+ years in commercial leasing, preferably in retail environments.
- Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of leasing regulations and commercial property laws.
- Proficiency in CRM, property management software (e.g., Yardi, MRI), and MS Office.
