Estimator (Onsite)

Job Description:

• Thoroughly review tender documents to develop and undertake accurate SOW, tender estimates, take-offs BOQ and Cost Plans.
• Recommend and deliver bid strategies and value engineering options on tenders.
• Review & analyse subcontractor and suppliers' quotes and negotiate to obtain best prices.
• Prepare tender submissions ensuring all components are included.
• Provide subcontractor and supplier selections and recommendations to project teams.
• Assist in the overall management of the estimating process from concept phase through to head-contract signing.
• Work with project Mangers from various departments of the business in bid preparation
• Keep track of all the bid submissions for the company and report on a weekly basis to Managing Director & General Manager outlining the number of tenders submitted and amount of tenders awarded.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or any related field.
• Experience working as an Estimator within the electrical infrastructure.
• 5+ years of experience in construction industry with a trade background.
• Sound knowledge of WH&S legislation.
• Sound knowledge of Electrical Safety legislation.
• Sound knowledge of Energex safety requirements.
• Sound knowledge of URD installations.
• Sound understanding of the regulatory prerequisites required throughout a project's lifecycle.
• High level of computer literacy and competency in MS Office.
• Ability to read and understand project plans and complete take-offs.
• Ability to maintain relationships with external clients.
• Ability to delegate work effectively to ensure an efficient working team.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks, and work in an efficient manner.
• Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong organisational skills.
