Commissioning Manager
Job Summary:
The Commissioning Manager will work as a part of the Project Engineering team in SEA, Japan and Korea and be responsible for the commissioning Cx testing on mission critical electrical and mechanical equipment, safe electrical practices, facility/project handover, and issue resolution.The role will be also responsible for developing commissioning cx engineer competency on executing commissioning scripts/tests. Managing the commissioning workshops, technical due diligence design review, developing commissioning strategy and plan, attending factory & site acceptance testing, technical issues resolution.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and guide the commissioning Cx team to meet customer expectation.
- Shall manage Cx meetings and Cx activities of vendor project managers including integration of lessons learned.
- Development of electrical, mechanical and total system test scripts, commissioning plan for Integrated Systems Test (IST), meeting the Datacentre’s needs and project specifics.
- Attend and be an active participant of customer equipment FWT/SAT/IST
- Liaise with customer commissioning teams/agents as required.
- Prepare and submit test results reports and documentation to the customer’s expectations.
- Conduct facility walk throughs and punch list reviews in conjunction with the Project Management team.
- Strategize commissioning plan, co-develop commissioning test plan, and execution of the commissioning plan.
- Responsible for project commissioning, timeliness of the commissioning and achieve company's quality and expectation.
- Lead and manage the execution of pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up of systems, performance testing in line and consistent with the project execution strategy and plan.
- Provide Commissioning inputs to the preparation of respective equipment test plans.
- Ensure that the project design intentions and specifications are made available and are compared /reviewed / checked against design philosophy standard practice.
- Lead and manage the execution of all commissioning and start-up activities as well as performance testing of systems and equipment packages.
- To lead an integrated team of testing and commissioning personnel (inhouse & subcontractors) to provide commissioning, start-up, performance testing, integrated system test, and operation training to the operation team up to handover.
- Review and highlight design issue and provide recommendation to technical Engineers and design consultant
- Attend commissioning meetings and report update to external stakeholders eg. Cx Agent, design consultant, client and subcontractors.
- Provide test and documentation that equipment is installed and tested correctly and set to the function properly for the customer.
- QA/QC of equipment installation, start-up, and testing.
- Engage with customers to ensure a positive experience, goals achievement and schedule adherence.
- Provide daily reports for commissioning status for internal stakeholders and customers as required.
- Work closely with project engineering, project management and service operations to constructively feedback areas of improvement in process using internal VOS (Vertiv Operating System) tools.
- Assist the business to develop greater levels of professionalism around commissioning best practices by developing and mentoring graduates and junior engineers.
- Comply with all Work, Health & Safety, Environment and Quality obligations.
- Actively promote safety in the workplace
Job Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical Engineering
- Have extensive experience with UPS and HVAC systems.
- Strong Knowledge Underground expertise in MEP Services and Systems implementation
- Good knowledge of T&C processes for Electrical/ELV Systems/ACMV
- Ability to test dry contact alarms with thorough understanding of alarm and control integration.
- Understanding of BMS integration of 3rd party products through dry contacts and IP monitoring
- 8 Years or more experience in data center commissioning
- Needs to be customer focused.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Be able to be a part of a high performing team and understand what that means.
