The role
We are seeking a talented Business Development Executive to join our dynamic team at Scholastic Philippines Inc. In this full-time role based in Metro Manila, the Business Development Executive is responsible for driving organizational growth by identifying new opportunities, building strong client relationships, and expanding market presence.This role plays a key part in pursuing government biddings, negotiating sales of educational materials, and developing partnerships with schools, NGOs, and publishing houses. The executive also promotes innovative solutions such as school learning management systems and digital learning libraries, ensuring the company’s products and services reach diverse markets and channels.
Key responsibilities- Opportunity Identification
- Research and pursue new business opportunities across government, private, and NGO sectors.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging needs in education and digital learning.
- Government Biddings & Institutional Sales
- Prepare and participate in government bidding processes, particularly with agencies such as the Department of Education.
- Negotiate and secure contracts for book supplies and educational resources (e.g., Kumon centers, local schools).
- Client & Partner Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, NGOs, and publishing houses.
- Explore partnerships with organizations adopting schools or supporting educational initiatives.
- Sales & Negotiation
- Lead negotiations to achieve profitable agreements while ensuring client satisfaction.
- Develop tailored proposals and presentations to meet client requirements.
- Digital Solutions Promotion
- Introduce and promote school learning management systems and digital learning libraries.
- Position the company as a trusted provider of innovative educational solutions.
- Brand Visibility & Representation
- Represent the company at industry events, meetings, and networking opportunities.
- Enhance brand reputation through professional engagement and strategic communication.
- Proven track record in new business development, sales or client relationship management, preferably in the education or publishing industry
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to quickly understand client needs
- Proactive, target-driven and results-oriented approach
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or related fields.
- Fluency in English and Filipino
