HR Specialist (12 Months Contract)
Fragomen Philippines is seeking an experienced and people-focused Human Resources Specialist to join our APAC HR team. This 12 months contract role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys balancing operational excellence with employee engagement, compliance, and stakeholder partnership.
As a key member of the HR team, you will support the full employee lifecycle, drive engagement initiatives, manage HR operations, coordinate payroll and benefits administration, and ensure compliance with Philippine labor laws. You will work closely with employees, managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver an exceptional employee experience and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Engagement & Culture- Plan and execute employee engagement programs, wellness initiatives, and internal events that foster a positive and inclusive workplace.
- Support employee communications, HR campaigns, and town hall activities.
- Analyze employee feedback, surveys, and exit interviews to identify opportunities to improve engagement and retention.
- Serve as a trusted first point of contact for employee concerns and queries.
- Manage onboarding, offboarding, transfers, contract renewals, probation confirmations, and employee record maintenance.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of employee data across HR systems.
- Support performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews, and documentation.
- Coordinate learning and development programs and training activities.
- Administer employee insurance enrollment, updates, and terminations.
- Support benefits plan reviews, renewals, and enhancements.
- Assist with salary benchmarking and market compensation analysis.
- Coordinate and administer local compensation and benefits programs.
- Ensure compliance with Philippine labor laws and statutory requirements, including DOLE, SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG regulations.
- Support employee relations matters, disciplinary processes, investigations, and documentation.
- Assist in maintaining HR policies, employee handbooks, and compliance-related audits.
- Monitor legislative changes and provide timely updates to management on employment-related developments.
- Liaise with external vendors and advisors on labor and compliance matters as required.
- Support the preparation and processing of monthly payroll.
- Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee movements, salary changes, and leave data.
- Validate payroll information and resolve discrepancies before processing.
- Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries professionally and promptly.
- Assist with payroll audits and compliance requirements.
- Provide HR guidance and support to employees and managers on policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate with Finance, Payroll, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth HR service delivery.
- Support HR projects and initiatives aligned with business objectives.
- Maintain HRIS and Workday records, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with global processes.
- Prepare regular HR reports, including headcount, turnover, leave utilization, and other management reports.
- Coordinate local office events, holiday celebrations, charitable initiatives, and employee activities.
- Support local and regional wellness and corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs.
- Recommend and implement innovative ideas to enhance employee wellbeing and engagement.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 4–6 years of progressive HR experience, preferably within a regional, shared services, professional services, or multinational environment.
- Proven experience in employee engagement, HR operations, employee relations, and payroll administration.
- Strong knowledge of Philippine labor laws, employment regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end HR processes and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Experience with HRIS platforms and Workday is highly desirable.
