About the Role

We are looking for a Tax and Compliance Officer to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant tax reporting across the organization. This role plays a key part in tax planning, regulatory compliance, and coordination with government agencies, supporting the Group’s financial integrity and governance standards.

The successful candidate will work closely with Controllers and Finance leaders, supervise tax staff, and help manage tax risks in a highly regulated industry.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Planning and Management
  • Ensure proper implementation and compliance with tax accounting rules and regulations prescribed by revenue authorities
  • Identify tax planning opportunities to achieve cost‑effective tax outcomes while maintaining full compliance
  • Study new tax laws, revenue regulations, and memoranda and assess their impact on the Group
  • Provide guidance on tax requirements for special projects and one‑time transactions
  • Ensure adequacy and effectiveness of tax controls and recommend corrective actions when needed
Regulatory and Statutory Compliance
  • Review and validate monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns (VAT, EWT, CWT, Income Tax, and related alpha lists)
  • Supervise the application and renewal of BIR registration documents and Tax Clearance Certificates
  • Facilitate filing and payment of taxes for non‑routine or special transactions
  • Ensure withholding tax credits are properly supported by valid BIR Form 2307
  • Coordinate and resolve tax issues and audit findings with regulatory agencies (e.g., BIR, DOE, DENR, BOI)
  • Prepare and submit required regulatory reports and respond to Taxpayer Account Management Program (TAMP) queries
Leadership and Coordination
  • Supervise Tax and Compliance Specialists and Assistants
  • Coordinate with internal departments, external auditors, consultants, and government agencies
  • Support the implementation of internal controls and continuous process improvements

Qualifications

Education & Certification
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Work Experience
  • At least 2 years of external audit experience with specialization in tax OR
  • At least 3 years of experience in a Tax and Compliance role, including 2 years in a senior capacity
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine tax laws and regulatory compliance
  • Experience in tax returns preparation, review, and audit coordination
  • Analytical, detail‑oriented, and results‑driven
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with accounting/ERP systems
  • High level of integrity and commitment to good governance
