Job Description

The Learning and Development Officer is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating learning initiatives that enhance employee skills, performance, and professional growth. This role partners with department heads to identify training needs, facilitate learning programs, and support the organization's talent development and performance objectives while promoting a culture of continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct training needs analysis and develop annual learning and development plans.
  • Plan, organize, and facilitate employee training, workshops, and development programs.
  • Manage the onboarding and orientation program for newly hired employees.
  • Develop, update, and maintain training materials, manuals, and learning resources.
  • Monitor training attendance, evaluate program effectiveness, and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain accurate training records and prepare learning and development reports.
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify competency gaps and succession development opportunities.
  • Coordinate external training providers and ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements.
  • Support employee engagement, performance management, and organizational development initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and implement innovative learning strategies and best practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Psychology, Business Administration, Education, or a related field.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in Learning and Development, Training, Human Resources, or Organizational Development.
  • Experience in facilitating training sessions, employee onboarding, and learning program coordination.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and public speaking skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess training effectiveness and identify development needs.
  • Ability to manage multiple training initiatives while meeting deadlines.
  • Willing to work onsite at SMX Convention Center Seaside Cebu and provide training support across various departments.
