Cost Control Associate for BE Resorts Mactan in Punta Engaño, Lapu-Lapu City

PURPOSE

The Cost Control Associate supports the Finance Department by monitoring and controlling all food, beverage, and operational costs within the hotel/resort. This role ensures the accuracy of cost allocations, assists in budget monitoring, and helps maintain financial efficiency through consistent tracking, reporting, and analysis of inventory and purchasing data.

1. Specific Functions Cost Monitoring & Control

• Ensure accurate and timely tracking of food, beverage, and other departmental costs.
• Identify and report on cost variances compared to budgets and forecasts.

1. Inventory & Stock Management

• Maintain up-to-date and accurate inventory records.
• Conduct and reconcile regular inventory counts with minimal discrepancies.
• Prevent overstocking and understocking through close coordination with stores and F&B teams.

1. Purchasing & Receiving Compliance

• Ensure that purchases align with approved purchase orders and negotiated prices.
• Monitor receiving procedures to avoid quality or quantity mismatches.

1. Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cost and consumption reports.
• Provide variance analysis and highlight key cost drivers to the Cost Controller.

1. Waste & Loss Prevention

• Track and report on wastage, spoilage, or pilferage in F&B and other consumable areas.
• Suggest and support initiatives to reduce operational losses.

1. System & Record Accuracy

• Ensure that all data entries into cost control systems (inventory, procurement, etc.) are accurate and up to date.
• Maintain documentation for audits and financial reporting.

1. Policy & Procedure Compliance

• Adhere to hotel cost control policies, financial procedures, and internal controls.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards in cost-sensitive areas.

1. Interdepartmental Coordination

• Collaborate effectively with Finance, F&B, Purchasing, Stores, and Kitchen departments.
• Provide support and information to operational teams to help manage costs proactively.

1. Health, Safety and Security Services

• Ensure safety, security, and sanitation within the area of responsibility.
• Communicate, coordinate, and respond promptly as needed.
• Monitor, enforce, and encourage cooperation in implementing relevant programs and exercises.

• Bachelor of Science in Accountancy graduate or related course.
• with at least two (1) year hotel experience
• good knowledge in finance, budgeting and cost control procedures
• proficient in MS office applications
• organized, keen to details and with good analytical skill
