ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATE
Job Summary:
The Accounting Associate is responsible for the efficient and accurate handling of both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. This role also provides accounting support for the organization’s client in a Foundation, ensuring compliance with financial policies, proper documentation, and timely reporting of transactions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
- Process and monitor all accounts payable transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure all Requests for Payment (RFPs) are properly approved and supported with complete documentation.
- Prepare and process Accounts Payable Vouchers (APVs) in the accounting system.
- Monitor due dates and ensure timely payment of recurring expenses and obligations.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all payable transactions for audit purposes.
- Prepare and issue Certificates of Creditable Withholding Tax (BIR Form 2307) to suppliers.
Accounts Receivable:
- Prepare and issue billing statements and invoices to clients.
- Monitor and track collections, ensuring timely receipt of payments.
- Reconcile accounts receivable balances and investigate discrepancies.
- Coordinate with clients regarding outstanding balances and payment concerns.
- Record and apply payments accurately in the accounting system.
Foundation / Client Support:
- Provide accounting and administrative support for the organization’s Foundation client.
- Assist in the monitoring and documentation of Foundation-related funds, donations, and disbursements.
- Ensure proper recording and reporting of Foundation transactions in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain organized and audit-ready records for all Foundation-related financial activities.
General Accounting Support:
- Assist in the monitoring of cash flow related to payables and receivables.
- Support month-end closing activities and preparation of financial reports.
- Maintain complete and organized financial records.
- Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, or any related field.
- Open to fresh graduates; relevant internship experience is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel).
- Experience with accounting systems (e.g., Acumatica) is an advantage but not required.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
