Finance Supervisor

About the role

This role is fundamental to ensuring compliance with financial regulations and supporting informed decision-making across the organisation.

1. Supervise and coordinate daily accounting and financial reporting activities within the finance department
2. Prepare, review and validate financial statements, journal entries and reconciliations for accuracy and compliance
3. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment authorisations
4. Oversee bank reconciliations and ensure timely deposit of revenues
5. Monitor and control departmental budgets and expense reports
6. Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions in compliance with hospitality industry standards and company policies
7. Supervise and mentor junior finance staff, providing guidance and support for their professional development
8. Prepare and analyse financial reports for management review and decision-making
9. Liaise with external auditors and ensure proper documentation for audit purposes
10. Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures
11. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information and uphold data security standards

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
2. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting roles, preferably in the hospitality industry
3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards and generally accepted accounting practices
4. Proficiency with accounting software systems and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting
5. Demonstrated ability to supervise and train accounting staff effectively
6. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
9. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently whilst maintaining high quality standards
10. Knowledge of hospitality accounting practices and point-of-sale systems is advantageous
11. Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA or equivalent is preferred
