Senior Accountant - Australian Practice

We're growing, and we're looking for a sharp, experienced Senior Accountant to join our offshore team.
The Role
This is a full-time, work-from-home role supporting Australian clients across bookkeeping, compliance, payroll, and management reporting. You'll work directly with our account managers and leadership team in Sydney.
We work to Australian business hours, use cloud-based tools, and run a tight, high-performing team. If you're detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and take ownership of your work, you'll fit right in.
What You'll Be Doing- Bookkeeping and monthly reconciliations for Australian clients
- Payroll processing - Australian payroll rules, STP, and compliance
- Accounts payable management and supplier processing
- Monthly working papers and management reports
- Cashflow tracking and forecasting support
- Liaising with our Sydney team to keep jobs moving on time
- Minimum 6 years experience in Australian accounting and taxation
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll, BAS, and compliance requirements
- Advanced Xero skills - we are a Xero firm, this is non-negotiable
- Hands-on experience with Xero ecosystem apps (Hubdoc, Dext, ApprovalMax, or similar)
- Strong accounts payable process experience
- Monthly working papers and management reporting - you've done this regularly, not occasionally
- Reliable home-based setup with stable internet connection
- Cashflow forecasting experience (Fathom, Float, or similar tools)
- Exposure to multi-entity clients or group consolidations
- Experience supporting an Australian accounting practice remotely
