The Role:

We are seeking a US Senior Accountant to join a growing professional services firm headquartered in California, USA, specializing in tax, accounting, and advisory services. This role is responsible for managing and overseeing financial activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting across core accounting functions.

The Senior Accountant will maintain financial records, analyze financial data, prepare financial statements, and provide meaningful insights that support decision-making. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, high attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced professional services environment.

Location: Must be in Philippines – Remote.

Environment: Philippines and international teams

Timezone: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time (12:00 AM – 9:00 AM Philippine Standard Time), follows Philippine holidays

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Proven work experience as an Accountant or Senior Accountant.
  • In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant accounting regulations.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)
  • CPA certification or progress toward CPA certification.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and experience supporting tax preparation.
  • Experience within a professional services, tax, accounting, or advisory firm environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Financial Reporting & General Ledger
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions and maintain general ledger accounts.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and well-organized financial records in accordance with company standards.
Month-End & Year-End Close
  • Conduct month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.
  • Review account activity, investigate discrepancies, and support timely reporting cycles.
Financial Analysis & Planning Support
  • Perform financial analysis and provide insights to assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Monitor financial data to identify trends, variances, potential risks, and opportunities.
Tax & Compliance Support
  • Assist in the preparation of tax filings, including corporate income tax returns and sales tax returns.
  • Apply knowledge of GAAP, relevant accounting regulations, and regulatory updates to support ongoing compliance.
Audit, Controls & Process Improvement
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support audits and provide necessary documentation, explanations, and schedules.
  • Implement and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, increase efficiency, and strengthen reporting accuracy.
