Product Development Designer
Job Overview:
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Product Designer to join our team. As a Product Designer, you will be responsible for defining product specifications, creating digital or print drawings, and designing fully functional and visually appealing products.Your work will directly influence our customers' experiences and help us build user-friendly products that stand out in the market.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the team to understand design requirements and project goals.
- Present product ideas to team members for brainstorming and feedback.
- Produce 3D CAD designs within the expected timeline.
- Suggest improvements to designs and performance, working closely with engineers.
- Translate design concepts into functional prototypes.
- Research product technologies and structures to incorporate into design concepts.
- Stay updated on industry trends and market conditions.
- Coordinate with the team to ensure efficient communication and execution of designs.
- Modify and revise existing designs based on customer feedback.
- Identify opportunities for new product development.
- Learn sourcing and identify vendors or factories that meet company needs.
Qualifications:
- Relevant work experience as a product designer preferred.
- Experience working with manufacturers or factories is a plus.
- Background in plastic injection molding, metal, textile, or wood fabrication is preferred.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
- Good knowledge of 3D modeling software.
- Experience in industrial design.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Keen eye for aesthetic design and customer appeal.
- Understanding of color science and combinations.
- Artistic and innovative mindset.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a meticulous approach.
- Strong understanding of industry and market trends.
- Sourcing experience is a HUGE plus; if none, candidates must be willing to train and learn sourcing tasks
