R&D SUPERVISOR - PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

The R&D Supervisor is responsible for the development of new product. The job covers from product conceptualization, planning, technical evaluation, mass production to product launch.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct technical and literature researches related to product development
  • Develop and formulate new products based on pre-determined market and cost.
  • Plan for product development activities and schedules to achieve target launch date.
  • Work with business team, Marketing, QA and Sales to achieve company revenue goals.
  • Provide technical support for customer issues, production issues, new customer qualifications, new application characterizations and component replacement including analyze customer feedback and suggest appropriate product revisions; recommend product enhancements and updates to identify new business opportunities; support marketing in developing sales and market strategies for profitability; assist in new product introduction and release activities; address customer issues and concerns in a timely fashion to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Evaluate alternative and substitute raw and packaging materials and process.
  • Establish product parameters and process procedure for new and improved product & process.
  • Develop and creates technical specification for new products, materials and process.
  • Evaluate product labels and claims based on FDA regulations and Codex Standards
  • Conduct Thermal Validation for canned milk products.
  • Conduct product sensory evaluation.
  • Conduct product shelf-life study.
  • Write and submits Technical Reports of product research, study and development.
  • Generates ideas for new products and researching feasibility in terms of profitability, resource availability and compliance with regulations.
  • Responsible for the confidentiality of product formulation
  • Supervise batchers and lab aid activities and schedules.
  • Reconciles premix materials physical inventory vs System (SAP).
  • Perform other task assigned by immediate superior.
  • Perform above duties and accountabilities in accordance to company’s guidelines and policies.

Work Experience:

  • With at least 1 year experienced in food industry in the field of Research and Development
Academic Background
  • Graduate of B.S Food Technology, Chemistry or any equivalent course
Competency Profile
  • With background in sensory
  • Basic knowledge in shelf-life study
  • Basic knowledge in Thermal Process
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications
  • Systematic and with good attention to details
  • Above average analytical and critical thinking
  • With good communication skills
  • With good leadership skills
