JOB DESCRIPTION:

  1. Cost Estimation: Preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects based on architectural and engineering plans, specifications, and material quantities. This involves analyzing the scope of work, labor costs, material prices, and other project-related expenses.
  2. Tendering and Procurement: Assisting with the tendering process by preparing bills of quantities (BOQs) and contract documents. Quantity Surveyors may also help evaluate bids from contractors and subcontractors and recommend the most cost-effective options.
  3. Budget Management: Developing and maintaining project budgets, monitoring costs throughout the project lifecycle, and identifying areas where cost savings can be made without compromising quality and safety.
  4. Cost Control: Implementing cost control measures to ensure that the project stays within budget. This includes assessing and approving variations and change orders, managing potential cost overruns, and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.
  5. Valuation of Work Done:Regularly assessing and valuing the work completed by contractors to determine progress payments and ensure that they align with the agreed-upon contract terms.
  6. Contract Administration: Preparing and managing contracts, including payment terms and conditions, and handling contractual disputes or claims related to cost and variations.
  7. Risk Management: Identifying potential risks and uncertainties that may impact the project's costs, and devising strategies to mitigate these risks.
  8. Final Accounts: Preparing and negotiating final accounts with contractors and subcontractors at the completion of the project.
  9. Measurement and Takeoff: Measuring and quantifying construction works, including materials, labor, and equipment, to create accurate bills of quantities.
  10. Value Engineering: Collaborating with the design and engineering teams to identify cost-effective design alternatives without compromising quality.
  11. Cost Reporting: Providing regular cost reports and updates to project stakeholders, including the project manager, client, and other relevant parties.
  12. Health, Safety, and Quality Assurance: Ensuring that all cost-related decisions comply with health, safety, and quality standards and regulations.
  13. Professional Advice: Offering professional advice on cost-related matters, including cost-saving strategies and potential cost implications of design changes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS Civil Engineering or BS Architecture graduate preferably licensed.
  • With knowledge on rebar cutting list and costing.
  • With experienced in Vertical & Horizontal QS.
  • At least 3 years consecutive work experience as Quantity Surveyor in a General Construction Industry.
  • Proficient in QS Software, Microsoft Office especially in Excel.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
